For the first time, Vanity Fair has joined our collection – pages from intermittent years between 1869 and 1913 are available for you to search. Founded in 1868, this weekly magazine includes current events, fashion, serialised fiction and more. It is typical of the British ‘society magazines’ of the period.
Specialist horticultural titles like The Garden and Gardener’s Magazine are also new to the Archive this week, in addition to Irish papers like Clare Champion and Irish Homestead.
With new pages covering themes from charity work to religious preaching, read on to discover all that we’ve added. Whether you’re interested in niche subject publications or local weeklies, there’s something for everyone.
If you’ve got roots in the English county of Essex, you may want to explore one of this week’s new titles – the Clacton Graphic and East Coast Illustrated News. We’ve added 2,135 issues of this newspaper spanning 41 years, with 24,796 pages in total.
