We are always looking to digitise new material from across the centuries, as we work to make publications accessible to a global audience. As well as working with the British Library, we have several agreements with commercial publishers such as Reach PLC and Iliffe Media Group. We also publish material in agreement with copyright holders, where a publication may now be defunct.

As well as newspaper material, we also digitise other publication types like periodicals and magazines. Think of us a digital historical newsagent, our shelves full of a range of content, from local papers to your favourite teen magazines.

We offer a range of benefits to publishers and copyright holders in return for the rights to digitise and market their material. These include:

  1. Digitisation of your archive at our own expense
  2. Monthly royalties based on the usage of your publication(s) by our customers
  3. Marketing and distribution of your archive to a worldwide audience of researchers

We can work with a variety of formats. Whether your archive consists of paper volumes, microfilm reels, or is already digitised, we can work with you to explore ways to bring it to life online – and earn you revenue. We may also be able to digitise your holdings without physical access to your in-house archive, thanks to our partnership with the British Library.

How we work with archives and libaries

We can offer the same benefits above to archives and libraries. We will, however, prioritise material that is available at the British Library, but where there are gaps in the Library’s holdings we are keen to hear from you. If you’re unsure about whether you hold gaps in the Library’s collection, please do get in touch.
